# Morph Targets

Morph targets, sometimes called blend shapes in some 3D software, are a way to animate and change the shape of 3D objects. It works by making different versions of a base object, each with small changes. You can then smoothly blend between these versions to create animations, like changing facial expressions or moving parts of an object.

*Manipulating morph targets in Spline*

Spline supports files with Morph Targets already set up. You can create animations in third-party 3D software (e.g.: Blender, Cinema4D, Maya) and after exporting them as FBX or GLB/GLTF you are able to import it directly to Spline to find and manipulate the morph targets.
